pH meters

Anyone recommend a good one?
Reviews seem to go from excellent to terrible irrespective of the price.

I use a Voltcraft PH-100, I’m happy with it, it’s certainly better than the cheap pen type one I used before. It also has 2 point calibration so is easier to calibrate.

PH-100 works very well for me. It comes with a small sealed bottle round the electrode so you can put storage solution in it, and it actually keeps it liquid - unlike some others.

Most of us who have the Voltcraft sing its praises. Still on my original probe but I do look after it.

Probably best to do a search online. Got mine from Rapid
www.rapidonline.com

Conrad electronics do them and replacement probes. I think the price is similar, (circa £40 last time I looked)) wherever you buy them.
Best wishes

The cheapest I've got so far is Rapid via ebay at £58.66. Conrad are quoting £81.99 + delivery ( £6.99) but they are offering a quantity discount.

Then they have gone up in price considerably since I and a few others got theirs - pity.
Best wishes

Mine is also on the original probe - had it for about a year now and I keep it in storage solution when not in use. I was wondering, how do you know when it's time to change the probe?

I'm assuminhg somewhat wild and random readings that are obviously wrong.

I assume all is well whilst the probe still calibrates easily and provides repeatable results afterwards. I gather they can begin to take longer to settle on a reading and grow harder to get a stable, repeatable reading from. But I've not yet experienced this first hand; I'm pleased to say mine still seems to be working as normal even though quite a few years old now.

Thanks for the info guys - I'll look out for the signs. Sounds like the probes can last quite a long time.
