The ‘Tilt’ thread.

Ok, anybody using a tilt? I’ve got my first brew on the go using it.

Only an extract but it should turn out well. I've pitched at 20 and cooling to 18 for 7 days and then back to 20 for 7 days.

Questions.

1. Does the app run on the background? I have a old android phone with the app on but I cannot stop it from going to sleep.

2. I'm using brew stat for the data logging. How often does it refresh/update?

3. Does it hold its calibration? I spent a while calibrating it and after it slept all the my set points vanished. #-o

1 - no, I found the easiest way to get continuous logging was to add their app to my RPi running BrewPi.

2 - havn't used this but maybe others can comment.

3 - I've not seen this issue on iOS/Raspbian

They are very responsive to queries so if you are having issue with 3 you might want to email them. Great customer service in my experience and I love my Tilt and would never want to go back to before it.

Thanks.

BrewPi is white mans magic to me, I have no idea about it. Is it easy to use/learn?

I have tweeted tilt 2 days ago regarding a faulty unit and em,ailed them 1 day ago. No response yet.

I love geeking out at the stats, superb.

Brew started bubbling after an hour yesterday and is now 0.8% ABV.

Very geeky, even the wife is checking it occasionally.

It is really nice to see how things progress and a good way to learn how good your fermentation are going.
