Chinese equipment...
Chinese equipment...
Just wondered if anyone on here has bought any Chinese equipment for growlers, mini gas regulators, taps? I'm looking to have a cheaper solution to serving some homebrew away from home from cornies, maybe growlers?
I don't want to spend a fortune or want to take my equipment apart at home.
I've never bought off Ali express, do you have any recommendations for using this/not?
Cheers
Mike

Most of what you buy in the UK is Chinese sourced anyway so go for it. Ali Express is as trustworthy as Ebay so have little worry there. You will obviously wait longer.

Bought quite a few bits from AliExpress now. Not all been great quality but for the price point it’s workable.

Most of what I’ve heard about chinese stainless is that it’s ok but comes very dirty. A good wash with unscented laundry detergent supposedly works wonders, with a biiiig rinse afterwards.

Re: Chinese equipment...
I and friends have used Ali express many times and agree completely with the eBay analogy. One tip, as a couple of us were caught early on is that the default currency seems to be US dollars and we were charged conversion factors on our first orders.
May well be our stupidity, but there is a small box in the top right hand corner to convert default currency. It was not nearly as obvious how to do this a few years ago!

Thanks for the responses. I didn't know about the checkbox for currency, so this will save me a wally award

Re: Chinese equipment...
Also remember you will be charged VAT and/or import duty and the Royal Mail "collection charge" once it arrives (depending on the value).
