Hi all. Has anybody successfully setup SG Reading in Ubidots for Ispindel.
I have setup a new variable with the formula:
round((1+gravity/(258.6-227.1*gravity/258.2))*1000,0) as instructed on various forums but it doesn't work, just stays blank.
Any info much appreciated
Paul

Hi Paul
Have you typed the words "gravity" into the formula directly? If so then it won't work. You need to click the "Add data source" button when creating the variable, select your device and then select the variable.
BTW, I notice that your formula is exactly the same as mine so I'm guessing you have copied it directly from one of my posts. You will need to calibrate your iSpindel and generate a formula for your specific device otherwise your readings will be incorrect.

A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it's better to be thoroughly sure.

Mine is working as I type although it's not reporting temperature but I think that I'm to fault for that.

Hi spook100
Thanks for reply. I have managed to get it working now.
For some reason it would not accept the formula and work in Firefox but when I tried in Microsoft Edge, it worked ok.
I had already calibrated the iSpindel and generated the Plato formula which I entered into the setup page sending the details to ubidots.
Now I'm confused again. Are you meaning the figures in the formula above are specific to your iSpindel, I thought that was a generic conversion from Plato to specific gravity. It gave me the same starting gravity as my hydrometer so seems ok.
Thanks

Oops, my mistake. I replied in a rush and was looking at the wrong formula. That one is correct

Re: Ispindel with Ubidots
I struggled for a while getting the formula to work and found out it was because I was trying to do it on a tablet. Once in chrome on laptop worked first time.
