Re: counter pressure bottler
Interesting - what are the 4 different lines for?
Ingredients: Water, Barley, Hops, Yeast, Seaweed, Blood, Sweat, The swim bladder of a sturgeon, My enemies tears, Scenes of mild peril, An otter's handbag and Riboflavin.
Re: counter pressure bottler
Left side is co2 in, right side has co2 out (burp) and a snift/ bleed off valve. Top is the beer in.

Ingenious use of standard items!
Is the counter-pressure pre-set in some way, or do you restrict the CO2 burp/outlet live with the tap(s)?

Re: counter pressure bottler
I set the small plastic tap to bleed off at a slow rate and once it's set I leave it at that

Re: counter pressure bottler
Thanks. Seems like a nicely simple approach compared to some of the exotic valves I've seen used. Relatively easy to clean too if beer should ever get up there.

It first Evacuates, then adds C02, then opens to fill beer into bottle, then opens snift valve to slowly vent off counterpressure.

Re: counter pressure bottler
That is a thing of beauty. Massive step up from a carbonation bottling cap and a leaky hoses.
Please say you have the door bells wired up to give a fanfare at every filled bottle.

Ooh that's really cool.
I was wondering how it knows when to stop filling, but I presume you hold the button as long as you want to fill it for?

Re: counter pressure bottler
Yes, I plan to put a light in to be able to see the bottle fill. An automatic stop valve would be handy though

Re: counter pressure bottler
Regarding automatic stop valve:
I'm wondering if you could maybe use a load cell, to weigh the bottle, so if it's just below 500ml it cuts off.
Or you could maybe use 2 electrodes that normally measure infinite resistance, but which drops dramatically when beer is present.
