Wilkinson’s new pressure barrel

Post by alfie09 » Mon Apr 01, 2019 10:42 am

Just bought one today. Didn’t check it In the shop. But we’re the tap goes it’s kind of not drilled out properly. It’s like a solid block with a small hole. I’m not sure the tap looks right dotted in the hole

Tried the tap into the hole. It fits but it’s tight as hell, lubed it up but it’s not seated properly doesn’t look flush

Do you mean Wilko? If so, I have one as a back up fermenter and the tap arrangement is a bit odd to say the least. I've found it's OK providing you don't over-tighten it and just let the vaseline form the seal.

Shorten the thread on the tap and it will be fine. Do not enlarge the hole !
