Hi
A Latvian company that specialises in used kegs, refurbs and mods including the connectors. They do a range of kegs but I'm interested in the 30 and 50 kegs.
http://www.used-kegs.com/keg-services/
The website looks a bit out of date so I've sent a message to find out if they supply the uk, min order qty etc. Interested to know if anyone has used then and have any feedback? I did try a search on the site but needless to say searching for "used" and "kegs" got plenty of hits!
Thanks
Anyone tried this site to source used kegs?

I've not heard of them before, but it could be good to have another source if they're any good. Particularly of the slim 20L sankeys, which seem relatively unusual here. Will be interesting to see what response you get.

Well, they will deliver to the UK but suggested that min was a pallet with 24 kegs (in this case I asked about the 50L) with discounted transport for more pallets!
Given that most of the keg prices appears to be around Eur 50 /keg, we're looking at Eur 1200 plus delivery. I'm not in a position to commit that much at the moment on the off chance of selling on the rest.
Anyone else fancy investing?

I am tempted with a pallet of 20 litre kegs, I must admit. Need to decide if it is worth the faff to make some pocket money.
Did they indicate a rough price including delivery for the pallet of 50s?

If you're going for pallet quantities then it might also be worth checking prices of new kegs with Crusader; they stopped dealing with small orders but are still supplying larger ones. By way of comparison a new 50L keg from them used to be about £69 including VAT and (I think) delivery. That was a few years ago of course but was also on a small order quantities, so a pallet quantity might possibly still be good value.
I'd guess (and it is just a guess) that with exchange rates and delivery to the UK the Lithuanian 50L kegs would work out as roughly around £50 each - plus any postage out to individuals in a group-buy (not sure if Fungus' quote includes the spears or not). But of course they're second hand so presumably condition will be more variable and so somewhat more of a gamble, though one would hope the reconditioning brought them all up to usable spec.
(For used kegs, the Morrow Bothers ltd in Preston used to do them sometimes too. I think stock was sporadic and slim 20L kegs are rare in any case so a long shot for those, but they have supplied 50Ls to a few people in the past).

Good suggestion Kev. These chaps came back quoting 40 euro for a 20 litre keg and s spear plus delivery, but obvs only by the pallet load of 42!

Thanks Kev - I'd assumed that UK prices would be much higher. Will have a look at Crusader.

Re: Anyone tried this site to source used kegs?
Its a pity they stopped doing small orders, but I guess it turned out to be uneconomic or time consuming dealing with people buying just a few kegs at once when their main business is with industry. BrewUK apparently took over the small/homebrew sales - and obviously started charging more per individual keg.
There is/was another UK supplier called Kammac, that has sold kegs to some homebrewers. But I think they may no longer be on ebay, and I can never find their official keg site. Previously they didn't do the slim 20L ones but that might have changed. EDIT: not sure if the company has changed too - the old links I found no longer work.
