Wonderful stuff, silicone tubing. Easy to work with, being so flexible. I have loads of it in my 3 vessel set up.
So much, in fact, that every time I set up for a brewday (now!) it takes a while to work out which bit goes where.
I've tried using a 'permanent' marker, tying labels on, wrapping insulating tape round the tubing and marking it. Nothing seems to work very well.
Anyone got any good ideas on how to permanently label the stuff?
Thanks.
Guy

I note each piece by length and where it goes.guypettigrew wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2019 9:54 pmWonderful stuff, silicone tubing. Easy to work with, being so flexible. I have loads of it in my 3 vessel set up.

Re: Labelling silicone tubing
Excellent suggestion, sort of! I only have black heat shrink, but I have four colours of insulating tape. Previously I've only used white and tried to write on it. Failure!
If I put coloured tape on the tubing and the same colour tape on the relevant ball valves it'll be really easy to know which bit of tubing goes where.
Thanks!!

Re: Labelling silicone tubing
I didn’t suggest tape as I presumed you soaked them in oxy.

Starsan for half a minute or so. If the tape drops off after a few soaks then it'll be easy enough to put some more on. If it drops off immediately I'll buy some coloured heat shrink!

Colour coded cable ties could be an option too.
