People still using them? All the kegs i see thse days are ball lock. Anyone successfully coverted pin lock to ball lock?

Yes, you can replace the posts. I have a pin lock that was free but I never liked the disconnects because they seemed to be fussy and would leak pressure because they have more joints. It also doesn’t make sense to mix disconnects.
Sommeliers recommend that you swirl a glass of wine and inhale its bouquet before throwing it in the face of your enemy.
