Managed to make some progress today.

I tried using the small red fibke washer that came with the element but had a leak. Even when the back nut was done up nice and tight. So I used the black rubber washer, this came with the element too - no leaks!

Just awaiting for a 20cm stainless disc from eBay and the bits for the wiring and I'm going to use sticky back Velcro strips to stick the disc over the electrics in the bottom. This will keep it protected and neat looking but also be accessible if needs be :)

Great setup eclipse, where did you get the Thermopot / how much was it, I'd like to make exactly that pot!!!

What's the overall width, height and depth of your setup? Hope to build a very similar setup wondering how much space I need!!

Apologies for resurrecting this old thread, but it’s the exact thing I’m planning on making.

I have the 6ltr thermopot and element and just require the stainless coil as per the pictures in this thread. I’m concious that the last post was several years ago now but where could I source a coils at a reasonable price? (I’ve looked at Aliexpress / fleebay etc but no joy)

Thanks in anticipation

Following up with this . I’ve contacted MrLard who doesn’t have any.

Does anyone know where I could source a coil?
