Is it ok to use VWP cleaner to clean my corney.

Well, just finished drinking a small batch out of my corney and am planning to clean it for the first time. Since I'm going to be putting the next batch in this weekend, I thought it would suffice to simply fill it with water and the VWP I used with my bb and just run that through the hose and tap. Then rinse.

Will this be ok. I'm not sure how often I should break down the corney for a proper clean.

Ok, that has turned into two questions.

FWIW I use antiformin to clean my cornis (argghhh Bleach arrggghh!) which cleans great. Just be sure to keep the contact time as short as possible.

I remove the posts every clean and boil them just before refilling. I also run a small brush down the dip tubes to clean out any muck that might be hiding.

It may sound like I'm being a bit obsessive but I once found a manky hop leaf inside a post so I'm keen to make sure everything is very clean.
