Hello guys been trying to get peracetic acid for some time. But have seen a peracetic acid based product by Dupont called Hyperox. :D It is sold as a farm disinfectant and easily obtainable. Does someone experienced in these matters want to have a look is it suitable for homebrewing and none rinse. :?: Cheers RabMaxwell(Brewing in Ayrshire)

I met a guy at my Greek class who's an agricultural merchant and he tried to get some peracetic acid for me. He couldn't get it as he didn't know the trade name.

He soon will!! :P

I'll say the same again as I've said b4....I hope you guys know what your doing, Peracetic acid is nasty stuff.

You cannot use it neat without gloves, it will blister your hands b4 you know it's there.

It's really nasty to inhale and makes your eyes weep in even small amounts.

Our coshh at work dictates it should only be used with suitable eye protection, confined to a fume cupboard and contained to avoid spills. You should also have a neutralizing agent handy in case of spills.

It's also not a good idea handling it on your own, as if splashed in the eyes, you will lose your visions due to weeping instantly.

It can also provoke respiratory disorders and make sod met look like lemonade

Good clean fun...not.

Oh yes...did I mention the it liberates highly flamable gases

Ps, if your still interested Solvay Interox have the trade name 8)

EDIT

here you go

Personally I'm only happy dealing with stuff that's inert at normal concentrations...
