Cleaning Cornelius Keg

Post by Scooby » Thu Sep 21, 2006 11:01 am

Hi everyone, I’m new to the forum and this is my first post. I’m starting home brewing after a gap of over 20 years. All I have from those days is my ancient Bruheat boiler and both Dave lines books that inspired me to mash in the late seventies. I’m in the process of getting together all the hardware and have got myself a Cornelius Keg and have made a counterflow wort cooler. I was going to give the keg a good clean with Soda crystals, is this ok? What is the best way of sterilising both of the above? I thought Iodophor. Things have changed so much I have loads more questions I’ll save for later.

I am persoanlly new to Soda Crystals. Just bought myself some last weekend and will be using them for the first time in the near future (hopefully brewing this weekend)

It is my personal opinion and personal preference, but I rarely use anything other than Iodophor for my sanatizing purposes...

Just bought myself a plant spray mister thingy and filled this with Iodophor solution so I can easily get those little bits that can easily becoe contaminated with a misplaced touch.
