Thought I'd hijack this thread, I'v read through a few posts on this but I'm still confused.

Just got my first corny and want to start using it. I'v got some Iodophor, Richies Steriliser, Soda Crystals, and my arms are small enough to reach the bottom. What do I do?

Rinse out the cornie with cold water and use a sponge to remove any obvious dirt/sediment/syrup.

Fill with hot water and a couple of ounces of soda crystals. Pour some of the solution through both disconnect posts (various methods - I have a spare disconnect attached to a funnel). Leave for 20 minutes. Empty, and rinse well several times with cold tap water.

Put 4 pints of no-rinse idophor solution into cornie. Shakey, shakey. Run some through the disconnect posts. Shakey, shakey again. Tip idophor into a bucket and use it to santise anything else you will be using (hose, hydrometer etc).

Fill cornie with lovely beer.

Yes it will. It will need a 20 minute hot soak. But that's OK, 'cos that's what I said! :D

Thanks guys. The Iodophor is Brupaks Iodophor from a HBS, reading the label it says 'rince thoroughly'. Goes agains't the reason I bought it really - have I bought the wrong stuff?

Thanks again. So far so good, and ready to transfer in the beer.
