steaming

i work as a chef and i have access to large steamers for which we steam veg etc. If i stuck my glass beer bottles in there would they be ok with the heat and would this sanitise them well enough to put my brew in.

Yes I spent the day at a local brewery recently and they steam clean their barrels to sanitize them before racking after cleaning them with caustic.

Excess heat is not particularly good for glass as it stresses it, eventually you will get some that will becomes bottle bombs for you, rather dangerous with the flying glass and all of that wasted precious beer. :cry:
