Water from dryer?

Post by wmfd » Fri Jan 01, 2010 11:31 pm

Bought one of those condensing tumble dryers recently, which produces large quantities of condensation water as it dries the clothes - which it collects in a tank. We've hard tap water and so we've been using it to iron with, stopping the whole thing gumming up with scale.

Of course this may just be me being a cheapskate, but seems a shame to chuck it straight down the drain after warming it up / condensing it out.

Could I use this to dilute starsan? I'm assuming it is essentially distilled water.

The problem with this is that over time, lots of nasties grow in the water tray any way, so I would personally steer clear of using the stuff and just use normal tap water as your dilute myself..... Your water tray will end up pretty slimy; not the sort of water you'd want to throw over anything in a cleaning frenzy!

Thanks - I'll stick to using it just for ironing then!
