Young's - Contact or Soak?

Post by Wooderson » Thu Aug 12, 2010 8:17 pm

Hi, i'm currently using Youngs sterilising solution although plan to go the no-rinse route soon enough.I've got a batch of bottles to do but both my fv's are full which means I can't do my usual soaking.I was thinking would it be possible to make up a spray of solution and give each bottle a spray, leave it for a while followed by a good rinsing?
I read alot about no-rinsers various contact times but have not seen any for their traditional counterparts so i'm wondering, would this be sufficient?

Cheers

Cheers, I thought I read on here with regards to contact time that 20 minutes was inaccurate, and more to do with the constraints of the test? Can anyone shed some light on this?

The FDA 'standard' effectiveness test for 'sanitizers' specifies a contact time of 20 minutes before the effectiveness is 'tested' . . . for that reason many (most) of the recommendations of US Sourced products state a 20 minute contact time . . . even if the effect is instantaneous
