Kingkeg cleaning help plz.
About to clean my first kingkeg after its first use. The cap has been greased with vaseline and also the rubber seal ring. Do I wipe and and wash all the vaseline off before sanitising it for its next use? The keg is getting a steep in soda crystals and just wondered about the cap as I know it needs doing.

Re: Kingkeg cleaning help plz.
Personally I don't clean all the vaseline off every time, I clean all surfaces that are inside the barrel. I put cleaning solution in the barrel put the lid on and give it a shake or 2 for a while.
I then rinse the barrel out with plenty of tap water and rinse off the lid. The vaseline stays in place ready for next time.

Do you value the time and effort it takes you to clean and sanitize them properly more than the (slight) risk of introducing an infection into your next full batch of beer?Cully wrote:Do I wipe and and wash all the vaseline off before sanitising it for its next use?
