Hi, Just cleaned a heavily stained barrel with Astonish Oxyplus, will a rinse in cold water before sterilising with starsan be sufficient or should I rinse in sod. Met.,to neutralise any bleach(?), before use. I’ve never used Oxyplus before so I’m not sure what, if anything, any slight residue would do to the beer. Thanks. Ray.

You don't need to use sod met but you do need to rinse well. I find oxy tends to be reluctant to rinse if you leave it soaking too long. Rinse well, wipe all over with a clean cloth/sponge and rinse again. Also check your Oxy is the unperfumed and unadorned version (these are usually the cheaper ones).
