You would think it was to cold for the little bleeders wouldnt ya? They always turn up for me when I touch the beer, fermenting barreling bottling. I had the mrs catching them at the weekend when transferring wort into FV.

Vinegar is the one for in the shed, catches hundreds of the bleeders.

Found out why we suddenly have fruit flies. With the new recycling regime in Bury, we were given a plastic food bin for the kitchen. All that rotting fruit, veg and food waste sat at room temperature.

We no longer will be using that. How unhygienic is that asking people to have food waste in their kitchen? The tub is so small you would have to keep it on the counter otherwise you would get a bad back stooping.

another ludicrous policy.

I'm also finding that they are much more of a problem since we introduced the brown compost bin about two years ago.

My Garden wast bin is just the other side of the fence behind the shed, its full of kilos of spent grain, used hops and all the other bits and bobs that get thrown in. They Love it in there and so do the slugs I have a slug lined bin lid.LOL
