Help with burnt on residue

Post by Rigg3r » Thu Feb 16, 2012 12:36 pm

I have a wort boiler with a flat electrical heating element at the bottom.

Last brew day some of the liquid malt extract became stuck to the element and has formed a very hard crust.

I have tried warm water, coka cola, oven cleaner and a plastic ice scraper and still some of it it will not budge.

I don't want to wreck the surface finish of my electrical element getting this stuff off, anyone have any ideas please?

Thanks.

A scouring pad has always been OK on my elements... don't try and scrape the thing to death, but a little work should get the residue off.

Or try Bar Keepers Friend.
I buy from The Malt Miller
