Sanitising with VWP cleaner/sanitiser.

Moving ever closer to the inaugural brewday. Had to buy VWP cleaner/sanitiser as The Homebrew Shop is currently out of StarSan. My question is about whether this can be sprayed on a la StarSan (obviously with a need to rinse afterwards) or do I literally need to fill my FV with it and leave it to stand?

Make it up to instructions, make sure you rinse very very well!

Starsan is a very fast acting acid sanitiser and can work in the time it takes to drain off, but I believe VWP needs longer contact times even just to sanitise (and much longer if used as a cleaner). 'Maybe' you could keep continually spraying it, but I'd personally stick to the instructions to avoid dissapointment - VWP isn't the most advanced, really.

You probably know this, but if/when you do get some starsan remember that its designed 'just' as a sanitiser (for use on things that are already phsically clean), not as a combined cleaner/sanitiser.

Cheers
