Videne Fv cleaning

Do you fill the whole vessel with water and add the Videne so for a 30 litre one I'd use around 45ml or would I spray and slosh about. Also ive got a plastic Fv is Videne gonna cause it to stain

I make up a couple of litres in a jug
  • Pour solution over the inside of the lid, draining into the FV
  • Seal the lid on slosh it around
  • Remove lid and pour back into jug while rotating the FV so all sides get wet
  • Lastly, put the lid back on and leave at a tilt to drain, while the bung & airlock soak in the jug
It doesn't stain.
I brew therefore I ... I .... forget

The Videne wont clean your fv. For that you need thin bleach or some other product like soda crystals and plenty of elbow grease. Most use microfiber cloths and I use a plastic haired scrubbing brush. The videne sanitises it after a clean.I make it up in 1 litre spray bottle, coat the insides with spray and then after a few minutes pour out the excess. Depends on staining, none of mine have, but I have heard that some do.
Nothing's forgotten, nothings EVER forgotten...
