cleaning a electric element?

Post by beer gut » Fri Aug 03, 2012 3:26 pm

Hi all i was wondering what is the best method and the best chemical to get my brupak mash tun/boiler electric element clean? I have read if you don't give the electric element a deep clean once in while it will end up having hot spots on the element and then the kettle won't come past 70oc/ 80oc so it won't come to the boil.

Citric acid and enough water to cover elements, boil for a bit and then a gentle scrub will having them back to shiny!

Just give your element a wipe with some distilled white vinegar and a sponge after you've used it that will bring it back to new without having to boil it.
