Soda Crystals
I replace all my tubing every 10-15 brews, It's only 60 or 70p per metre so no big deal and as you say it can get cloudy and grungy looking.james_m_r wrote:After the prolonged soak my syphon tube seems cloudy now instead of clear. How often should these be replaced anyway? It's just the 3/8" tube I am talking about.
Hello, someone mentioned that soda crystals are good for cleaning glasses. As the head on my beer disappeared rather quickly last night I was wondering if the grubiness of my glasses might be contributing. Can I wash them by putting crystals in the dish washer or is it best to soak them in the sink?
We have a dishwasher, but I wont let my beer glasses anywhere near itPhill wrote:Hello, someone mentioned that soda crystals are good for cleaning glasses. It's the rinse aid in your dishwasher that is destroying the head on your beer

Wash your beer glasses by hand and rinse and dry them well and everything will be OK

Thats why the head on beer in most pubs doesnt last long either!Phill wrote:Okay, no more dish washer for the pint glasses then. How do pubs clean there glasses then? They always seem to have dishwasher type machines or dont they use the same chemicals.
