Anyone use those Bottle Blast Rinsers?

Anyone use those Bottle Blast Rinsers?
Are they any good?
How long and how many times do you rinse?
Anyone happen to have one plumbed in to anything other than a outside/hosepipe/tap?

Cheers :)

I got one a while ago, I've not used it much due to lack of brew days (I haven't created more than I can barrel).
I'd only really advise on fitting to an outside tap as its easy to hit the side before the bottle is on and get a blast in the face. I fitted it once to the kitchen tap... It took ages to dry off the ceiling!
They are ace for rinsing, I used to soak bottles in bleech, then give them around 5 secs blasting. Seemed to do the job nicely. They are MUCH quicker than rinsing using a normal tap. The base lets them drain and the high pressure jet ensures all the inside is rinsed. Hope that helps :)

I have the double blast bottle washer, and I think it's great - does a lot better job of shifting yeast from the bottom of the bottle than my previous rinsing-and-shaking-the-bottle approach. I didn't trim the hose it came with down, and I use in the kitchen sink, which means that it's pointing at 45 degrees away from me: when I hit the side of it when putting a bottle on I get a wet window rather than roof!

I did have minor teething problems, though - when I first got mine it didn’t work at all – water sprayed out of the tap fitting rather than the washer itself. This was on both the kitchen tap with an adapter (required, and not included in the package, but I had a spare one), and on the outside tap.

I emailed the manufacturer directly and got this response:

“Check inside the brass nut to make sure there is a rubber washer inside. When the brass nut is screwed on the faucet tight you should not be able to turn the black female side of the quick-connect. Also make sure there is a rubber o-ring on the male part of the quick-connect.”

The quick-connect was freely spinning when fitted on mine, so I tried adding an extra washer, and it now seals properly.

They also said: “Every now and then I hear about this overseas, but it’s not always the case. I believe the threads have a different tolerance/spec.”

I Use one hooked up to a Flojet pump . . . And mounted inside a corny with the top cut off . . . Does a great job of both cleaning (with hot caustic - - -for really grotty bottles) and Sanitising with iodophor . . . NOT starsan although I am going to give it a try with saniclean at some time

I'm going to have to have a think... I'm getting bored of rinsing bottles under the tap, I wonder if the Hot-Caustic thing would have enough pressure thru a Solar Pump?
