mini keg sterilisation

Post by ed34 » Thu Oct 17, 2013 4:24 pm

i'm thinking of getting a few minikegs, probably the Brewferm mini keg starter kit, but a bit confused about cleaning them.

I've been looking and have read lots of different stuff, apparently Brouwland reccommend Chemipro OXI no rinse cleaner sterilizer, but i've read other things saysing this is really just a cleaner not a sanitizer.

I'm not sure if stuff like star san is ok to use on these mini kegs, and stuff that needs a lot of rinsing might be a hassle due to the small opening in the keg?

Whats the general opinion on cleaning / sterilizing them?

thanks

Clean them with washing up liquid and a bottle brush (to get the yeast gunk off the bottom) and then rinse, then starsan or similar and you're good to go
Cheers and gone,
