I've been given a load of Hyde's Premium Lager bottles which I've cleaned up today.
The labels are a bit weird. They're kind of plastic like and when you peel them off, they leave a silver coloured glue on the bottle. I've scrubbed it with a scourer and most has come off but there's still a layer of glue on the bottle.
I've cleaned inside and out and they're now sat sterilizing in the bath but I can see little bits of silvery glue floating on the surface of the water.
Obviously I'll rinse the inside before using them to bottle my lager but I'm just wondering if there's a chance that any of that silvery glue might be inside the bottle and what effect it would have on the lager and ultimately the person who drinks it.
Would you bottle it?

Im fussy so I would keep scrubbing until the outsides were spotless. Try using something a bit stronger to remove the glue
Re: Would you bottle it?
So in the end I didn't bottle it. Couldn't quite bring myself to bottle an "imperfect" batch.
I've tried a load of different methods for removing the glue as mentioned around the web and the surprising winner was WD40

White spirit removes stubborn glue.
