Sorry for the constant questions - but what happens if you leave it too long - ie two mins - do you then have to rinse?

Also I don't have bottle tree but usually shake each bottle dry - would this be sufficient?

I use soda crystals for cleaning and Iodophor for sanitising and I've not had a spoilt brew yet. The Iodophor I got from H&G for a fiver and its probably 3/4 full after 20 brews. I use 1/2 a tsp in a 700ml spray bottle and it really does go a long way and doesn't need rinsing.

you can leave longer without issue but a bottle tree would be a good investmant.

Thanks for all the help.

I think that an Iodene based sanitiser looks like the way forward. I think it will be particularly helpful with bottling as currently I can't fit all my bottles in one fermenter so it is taking hours to sanitise everything.

I shall investigate the bottle tree - until then I shall just have to hope that none slip from my grasp while shaking them dry.

Sorry to bump an old thread but i was searching for evidence to back this up and found this linked from an American forum .....

Basically 25ppm iodine is no rinse and doesn't have to air dry.

I use two 1.5 litre pump spray bottles from B&Q, (one adapted to take a JG fitting for running through my corny kegs) I fill them with warm water and 3ml of videne. These sprays are great for sanitising pretty much everything :-)
