It seems you can use tesco ashbeck spring water for use with starsan, do they sell this in all their stores?

I think i'll give peracetic acid a miss after reading some of the posts on it (mainly due to its short usage lifetime , i dont brew too often so it would be a shamecostly to have to buy a new bottle everytime).

I guess using bleach is pretty much the same as standard homebrew cleaners/sterilisers that containn free chlorine? and requires adequate rinsing to get rid of the smell. (so probably the cheaper option if i decide not to try star san).

Thanks again guys,
Kane

Effective sanitising with bleach at a dilution ration of 50:1 (for a 4% Chlorine bleach) should be pretty easy to rinse off.
I'm guessing most people err on the side of caution and use more bleach than is required.
A good tip is to use a Sodium Metabisulphite solution for rinsing.

The idea is you make it up to 250ml each time you brew, use it then chuck it. It doesn't keep very well in its no rinse dilution but is fine in the 5% solution is is sold in. Apart from thin bleach I can not think of a cheeper method, it works out about 10p per 250ml made up.

Oh right, cheers Rob.
So how long are we looking at for the 5% undiluted solution to last? 3/6/12 months?

Baby bottle sterilising liquid is cheap from Wilcos and doesn't leave any bleachy smells. Just dilute up what you need. Cheaper than brewing sterilisers and if it's safe to sterilise a baby bottle with it must do what it says on the tin.

Teco sell ashbeck in 5 litre bottles in all their stores I have seen From memory a 5 litre bottle takes 2 tsp. starsan Which as far as I can tell ,unused, lasts forever.I use bulk (about a litre in kegs Which I syphon out thus sanitising the syphon as well. All other equipment gets PROPERLY washed and then sprayed
