Brass

Post by dwhyte » Sat Apr 05, 2008 1:33 am

Hi all,

I am returning to brewing after at least a four year gap. Must say I have become very interested again :D

My equipment is old (1990 approx) boots beer barrels with the boots stainless steel c02 pressure valve that sits on the barrel cap.
These I see from modern investigation have been replaced by S30 valves which are brass.

My question is, are these ok with chlorine based cleaner/sanitisers or will these affect the brass?

Many thanks,

Thanks DaaB, :)

What about the rubber parts on the valve, do they survive boiling ok?
