Is that all this stuff is ?

Not a big fan of Chlorine base stanitisers, got a bit carried away with some of Harris filter stuff when I first started & badly pitted one of my Corny posts & ruined my first ever kit, Lions Pride.

So I'm an Idophor man these days, would like to use SanStar but my options are limited, as the water in my area comes out like wet limescale blocks #-o

Chris,

Thanks for the posting, I really should give bleach another go, as Brupaks Idophor isn't exactly cheap but like most brewers, I'm kinda getting stuck in my ways #-o

So inspired, I now feel the need to pop down my local supermarket, to get my hands on some budget bleach

Thanks
Daren.

For what it's worth - for the past few brews I have used a VWP type chlorine based powder for cleaning stuff -- it really gets the muck off. Although I am sure that the Sainsbury's Basics bleach would do just as well...

Once I've rinsed all the chlorine bleach away I then sanitise just before use with OxyClean type powder -- oxygen based bleach (from H&G if I remember correctly). This is non-rinse, just let it drain away.
