Bottle drainer & bottle rinser

Post by crafty john » Tue Nov 03, 2009 6:46 pm

I have just bought myself the above and I can't believe how much time it has saved me today, it usualy takes ages to sanitise my bottles it has more than halved the time it takes to sterilise my bottles, I used a no rinse steriliser (Chemipro Oxy) for my beer and I just used sulphite solution for my wine and just let it drain, I didn't see the point in rinsing as the amount of sulphite solution left in the bottles is so minute that it won't cause any problems with the wine.

A fantastic invention and well worth the money :D

do you just pop some no rinse sanitiser in the bowl bit at the top, push the bottle down on the top to squirt the sanitiser in and then put it on the drainer?

if it's that quick and easy i might have to get one as it will save me a huge amount of time.

How tall and wide are these contraptions with bottles on? I'm thinking of getting the 45 bottle version for storing empty bottles as well as doing the actual bottling, but am not sure it'll fit under my sink.

Hmm with bottles it's quite wide. I'd say about 2-3 feet wide at least

I found a retailer that gives the size:

http://www.hopshopuk.com/products/view/ ... le-drainer

"It is all plastic, has a rotating base with a maximum diameter of 39cm, and the overall height is 51cm."

Then of course you have to factor in the size of the bottles.

They are invaluable if you want to bottle large amounts, there are another 3 levels if needed...holds 88 bottles in all.

Blah, my up-side-down-bread-crate works just as well.

Stack a few ontop of each other and they double as a hop-dryer too. ;)
