camden tablets and fermenting bucket

Post by sladeywadey » Thu Dec 03, 2009 9:32 pm

Guys,

got a question relating to camden tablets and the fermenting bucket. I need to de-chlorinate the tap water. When I'm making up a brew for the FV, can I put the cold water and tablet in the fermenting bucket first, then add the wort?

All I'm hearing is put the boiling water/wort mixture in first, then top up with cold water. What I'm thinking is avoiding having to buy another bucket to do the de-chlorinating in first.

Cheers.

:| Practically speaking, mate? Yeah. Ye can do it that way. But it'd be tedious. Ye really need to rinse the tin out with scalding hot water, see? And that too should be Camden tab'd first. See where it's all leading?

Personally, I used to just use a spare keg or FV to treat my water in. Recently though I bought a plastic 'Jerry Can' for the purpose. Only cost me about a fiver and it's there now. Dead easy. Also frees up my FV / keg
