Star San,is there a difference

Post by gunner » Fri Jun 11, 2010 9:38 am

I purchased a bottle of star san from H&G last year, and on the front of the bottle it says star san HB.

Looking at H&G and The home brew shop websites, the star san bottle images do not appear to have HB on it.

Is there a difference between star san HB,and the bottles they appear to be producing now.If so what does HB stand for.

Graham.

I don't think I've ever seen one with HB on it. AKAIK there's only one version of StarSan. There is a non-foaming variety but it's called Saniclean.

I think the comments here will answer your question (especially the quoted email from Jim at FiveStar): http://www.homebrewtalk.com/f11/star-sa ... hb-113446/

Cheers wolfy,it seems that its the same then, though the contact time appears to be 3min instead of 1min on the regular bottle. Some posts on that thread still didnt seem to agree.
Thanks again. Graham
