Morning all. I'm making preparations for my first brew and (typical me) I want to know everyting before I start...
My first question is: VWP a phosphoric/anionic percarbonate similar to Cillit Bang but without the added Barry Scott? If so, I guess that after a good scrub and rinse I could fill the FV with a VWP solution and give everything a nice soak before sanitizing.
If someone has a technical sheet for VWP I would appreciate a copy.
You can expect a question regarding sanitizing will sometime soon!
Many thanks in advance.
What is VWP?
Re: What is VWP?
VWP is mostly sodium dichloroisocyanurate (a source of free chlorine), phosphates and caustic soda. I think its rather expensive for what is is, I agree with Chris-x1 that soda crystals followed with thin unscented bleach is a much cheaper way forward. Personally I wash stuff with washing up liquid, then sterilize with thin unscented bleach. The Tesco value bleach costs pence.

Can I just point out that this might not be the answer the poster was looking for. Then again...maha22 wrote:There is no "rule" about how long you need to be outside the U.S. before you apply for admission again under the VWP.
There is no "6 month visa waiver." People with visitor visas can be admitted for six months. Perhaps that's what you mean. If you want to stay longer than 90 days at a time, you should apply for a visitor visa.
The VWP is designed to eliminate unnecessary red tape and to make it possible for people to travel more easily to the USA, while also making it easier for United States citizens to travel more easily to cooperating countries. It was not intended to be a revolving door.
It would be considered an abuse of the program to come to the U.S. for 90 days, step outside the U.S. for a little while, return to the U.S. for 90 days, step outside the U.S. for a little while, return to the U.S. for 90 days, etc., etc. If you want to be in the U.S. for a prolonged period of time, the VWP is not designed for that purpose.
