Hello all,
Following what I read on this forum, I bought some Videne last week and used it to sterilise my bottles for tonight's bottling session. It made the whole process very smooth but I am not sure if I put enough of the actual Videne in. From what I have read, I needed to use 1.5ml of it per 1litre of water. Is this right? If so, how do people measure the 1.5ml? Do you use a pipette or something?
I used a trick I read on here about making up 1 litre of Videne and using 250ml of it for every 10 bottles that you sterilise, transferring the Videne each time. It was really easy to do. I just hope that the bottles were properly sterilised. Time will tell I guess.
Videne - measuring 1.5ml
Re: Videne - measuring 1.5ml
Buy a medicine syringe from a pharmacist for about £2. 10ml and 5ml ones are available and they're graded in steps of 1ml. I use mine for measuring CRS and its invaluable.

Cheers Bill. I will do. Glad to know that I didn't misread the threads as well.
Re: Videne - measuring 1.5ml
ask the pharmacy for one, I asked and he gave me 2 for nowt that are 3ml in size
(thinking about it, he had just sold the videne to me at the same time, so perhaps it wasn't 'free')
