Hi all,
in the past I've tended to squeeze LS-X into joints around FV taps etc to seal any crevices, but mechanically its not very tough, so where I have metal-metal crevices I was thinking of using JB-weld instead.
However whilst JB-weld stops leaks, I'm not sure if theres any slight porousness to it or not that could let in said nasties; I'm guessing not but i don't actually know. Does anyone know?
Thanks
Kev

Re: JB-weld and sanitation?
I can't say for definite, but it certainly seems to form a very smooth, impermeable surface. I'm pretty sure that epoxy resin is used to line various kinds of vessels for food or liquid storage...
Cheers

Re: JB-weld and sanitation?
That sounds encouraging, Dunc, thanks. Its pretty much what I was thinking too, so is probably worth a try then (J-B Weld is at least non toxic so there shouldn't be any major issues either way).
I tried quickly contacting the manufacturers (to ask if it is completely non-porous and if it is likely to be resistant to acid sanitisers), but each time I submitted the online query the form cleared itself (and proceeded to tell me I'd left all the fields blank!), so I'm not sure if they got it or not..
Thanks,
Kevin
