Hello all!
I've recently purchased myself a Cornelius keg which is happily holding a wheat beer I brewed. I was having problems with excessive foaming from the tap connected directly to the out disconnect on the keg so bought myself 10ft of tubing as a beer line connecting the disconnect to the tap via John Guest connectors. It has helped (slightly).
My question is: Is it safe, and sanitary for the beer in the keg, to leave the out disconnect, beer line and tap connected all of the time in-between drinking sessions? Or do I need to take it apart and clean/rinse the tubing in-between each use?
Many thanks for any advice!
Steve

+1 By connecting/disconnecting each time you'd actually be offering opportunity for infection to get in unless you thoroughly cleaned/sanitised everything on every occasion, and thats a lot of faff for a homebrewer to draw off just the odd pint or two.
The only issues I've had are around the tap nozzle, which is where the beer and air can meet, so as my taps have longish narrow nozzles I invested in a tattooists bottle (as it has a long narrow pointy spout) to squirt up and so rinse out the nozzle after a dispensing session. I use starsan but I believe warm water works too. e.g.

(They're designed to be used upright so to use inverted I just cut out the internal tube).

Thanks for this information. Very helpful!!
I will re-sterilise all the pipes/tap etc... and then attach them permanently until the beer runs out
