Oxi Clean Alternatives

Are the oxi cleaners from different manufacturers pretty much the same thing or do I need to watch out for any quirky ingredients?

I was looking to use the following as a low cost alternative to PBW for general low soiled equipment:

Anybody with any comments, thoughts or experience with this or other similar supermarket oxi cleaners......?

No, all the oxi's are pretty much the same in my experience - i've used the cheaper brands before and they work fine. I also keep an eye out on the supermarket offers as I like to use the Vanish "extra Hygiene" stuff as its pretty close in action to VDP as a cleaner/sanitiser (waitrose recently ran a "2 tubs for £4" offer)

I've used the Tesco own brand one and it shifts the gunge pretty well. It does seem to need a lot of rinsing to get rid of it but I'm not sure if that is the case with all of them.

Nice one. Will give the above a try. Incidentally I read somewhere that the best way to know when you have rinsed enough is when the surfaces stop feeling slippy....

I think soft water makes rinsing a lot harder. If I use water from our softener, the surface continues to feel slippery after many rinses. However, one sluice with water from the "hard" tap and the slipperiness immediately vanishes. So I expect everyone's experience will be a little different.

Just make sure it's absolutely non-scented.

Have given the cleaner in the above link a go and worked a treat. Very good low cost option it appears
