Bottle cleaner

Post by Cpt.Frederickson » Sat Mar 23, 2013 6:09 pm

Has anyone on here had any experience of using these?
Saw it pop up when I was browsing for kegs and thought it may be a useful way of making an irritating task slightly swifter...just wondered if others have used them and whether anyone reckons they're up to much, or just another useless gadget...

Fermenting -
Conditioning - Meads - Raspberry Melomel yeast test, Vanilla Cinnamon Metheglyn, Orange Melomel.
Drinking - Youngs AAA Kit; Leatherwood Traditional Mead, Cyser, Ginger Metheglyn.
Planning - Some kits until I can get back to AG, then a hoppy porter, Jim's ESB, some American Red.

I decided to buy one of these, bit of a punt but I thought what the hell...
And the outcome, I here you all ask?

Piece. Of. S**t.

Don't waste your time. It barely fits into the bottle, you have to force it so much to get the bugger in it becomes anything but labour saving!

I use -

Bottle rinser - http://www.thehomebrewcompany.co.uk/bot

Bottle tree - http://www.thehomebrewcompany.co.uk/bot

very quick and easy, the bottle tree is great for keeping bottles organised and of course draining the bottles,
the rinser, i put some warm water mixed with VWP and give each bottle 3-4 "pumps" on the rinser,
takes 5 or so mins to do 40-45 bottles.
