Can I use thick bleach instead of thin ?

Post by sbond10 » Sat May 18, 2013 6:21 pm

My local shops seem to have run dry on basics thin bleach can I use domostos original bleach instead. I normally use around 750ml of bleach per 25 litre fv and throw the bottles into this mixture but this is with thin bleach then rinse thoroughly. What ratio would I be looking at for thick bleach?

Cheers for your help folks

Wheeler recommends about 12ml a ltr for medium duty cleaning so about 300mls per 25ltr FV.

Lidl's thick bleach is the same strength as Domestos, and is a bit cheaper.

This may be a daft question but is bleach not carcinogenic?

Haha so why sterilise with it then? Some of it must still remain after rinsing no matter how thorough you are.

Not true really. Good rinsing followed by a sodium metabisulphite (Camden tablet) soak will remove all traces.

Yeah, sodium met. neutralises bleach in terms of seconds rather than minutes if I remember right. I just squirt in a 10% solution and add boiling water, close lid on FV and you're done.
