been using poundland oxy laundry powder,
thought I'd try and understand the chemistry. I use one scoop per 10 litres, but I do rinse thoroughly also

I use 3 scoops per 20litres ish, though I am now wondering how long that solution then takes to break down to the oxegen and sodium carbonate ash, since I frequently soak bottles overnight in a bucket of the solution and then use the same solution higher next day to wash another batch of bottles. It may be the case that by that point, it no longer offers any cleaning properties at all!

I use the same poundland stuff as you.

Well no duff or aceter brews yet, and its so cheap, unlike starsan, that I don't mind lobbing it. My area water is really hard, so starsan goes both milky and a bit slimy. probably harmless, but I'm bugged if I'm using crs to get water right for starsan.......I must add, I also sanitize. prior to using anything

Percarbonate is good . . . Clean and dispose . . . . do not soak especially in a hard water area or you'll get a deposit which is really difficult to shift.

Of course a mix of percarbonate / metasilicate / washing soda is many time superior to plain percarbonate . . .meaning you don't need to use as much . . . It's available as PBW from The Home brew Shop ;)

And just note that it does need to be rinsed ;)
