I buy most of my brewing stuff (including StarSan) from The-Home-Brew-Shop.co.uk

Good prices and great service in my experience. Best to combine the order with a few other things to get free delivery if you can.

I get mine normally from Rob at TMM, but looks like he's out of stock at the moment.
You could email/call him to see when its in stock again

Alternately Hope & Grape sell the small size

I use 8cc per 5L pet bottle of Tesco Ashbeck still water.
Based on 1.6cc/L

If you have really soft tap water you may get away with using that.

If you want to make up other volumes you can use this UK Starsan Excel Calculator Download:

I’ve just tried mixing Starsan with Ashbeck and after 24hrs it has gone a bit cloudy. I have tested the pH which is about 2.5 so I guess its ok?

Does it go cloudy for you too?

Got my Ibrew system going ( Bitter in the bucket, yeast doing its thing) and about to send for some Starsan. I read that its not safe to use on the 10 pint pet bottles that come with Tap-a-draft - would anyone know if that's correct ?

Your diluting it down a long way 3ml into 2 litres. Can't see how it's gonna damage anything, bleach, vpw etc there all gonna be stronger. Unless tap a draft have a special amazing all singing cleaner....

Come to think about I squirt starsan directly into ash beck bottles and leave for weeks that's pet plastic

The Ibrew ones are reinforced pet but I must admit, at the dilutions you use I cant see it damaging them.

I leave it in ashbeck bottles for weeks. It can go cloudy after a while but ph checks out OK.

I also leave it in my cornys for weeks if they're empty, as it keeps them fresh.

No probs in glass either.

I find that if I leave silicone tubing in them for long periods I get a powdery deposit on tube, but not on other materials.
Having said that its still better than oxy which leaves a deposit if left to soak more than an hour or so.

My water is very hard though, others may be OK with oxy soak in terms of leaving a deposit.

The oxidising part of oxy soon dissipates and I've had mold growing above the oxy layer in a closed vessel.
I don't get that with starsan, which keeps its sanitising power as long as ph remains low.

About a year ago I had same problem with Ashbeck for 2 x 5L, (going cloudy after a few days) but I've not had problem since. Can only assume a dodgy batch.
I think you can use the Tesco value still water too which may be a bit cheaper @ 17p/2L
