I just kegged my latest batch but somehow I forgot to spray StarSan up into the tap on the bottling bucket. The tap is brand new and I flushed cleaner through it when cleaning out the bucket but it's sat on the floor of my garage for a day or so. Anyone want to hazard a guess at the chances of an infected batch?
Everything else was put through the usual vigorous cleaning/sanitising routine so I'm hoping such a minor oversight won't have a major detrimental effect. Has anyone had any problems when forgetting to sanitise their taps?
Forgot to sanitise the tap!
Re: Forgot to sanitise the tap!
Don't worry about it - beer is 5% alcohol anyway, will kill most bugs.
Why do you think people drank it in the middle ages, because it was safer than water!

Re: Forgot to sanitise the tap!
The one thing I've come to learn from when I very first started, is that beer is as easy as I thought to get infected.
Finished beer, especially if dry hopped, is difficult to ruin. Ok 'difficult' may be the wrong word.
I'm still paranoid! And spray everything I can reach with starsan, but yea.

i never spray up the tap of my fermenter and i havent had an infected brew in two years of brewing, nothing to worry about.
