wd 40

Post by timbobist » Wed Aug 06, 2014 7:12 pm

Hi guys I've recently finished building my mash tun. I used some wd 40 on the threads of the stainless steel pipe running from the skin fitting to the ball valve. My first brew with the new tun was a stout which tastes good but suffers from poor head retention. Could this be something to do with the wd 40? I cleaned before the brew with hot water and pbw. Is there anything better to get rid of the wd 40? Cheers

I doubt it's anything to do with the wd40. What was the recipe and mash temp/yeast ect :)
Cheers and gone,
