Quick question

Post by Manngold » Mon Aug 17, 2015 2:04 pm

Hi all,

I have half of a bottle of the malt millers no rinse steriliser, however, the lid is completely broken, it has been for almost half a year. Is it safe to store it like this, or will it effect the quality of the steriliser?

Thanks

John

A ph test of the solution should indicate its viability off the top of me head i think its 2.5ph or less thats ok,, but check that ;)

if it proves ok decant the base into a better bottle with a sealing cap perhaps..
ist update for months n months..
Fermnting: not a lot..
Conditioning: nowt

Yeh, I had the same problem, dam thing broke with my bear hands, I stored it for a few weeks with a placky bag and rubber band.
then I had a chat with me mate who is mostly in the park on a bench. He always offers me a swig of his bottle from his brown paper bag. And of coarse I politely decline, as I know he likes the blue stuff. I don't wonna drink that shit just yet.

But anyhow while he was unscrewing a new bottle, I thought bingo..... That lid looks just like the one I broke. So the happy ending was I took the lid so he had to drink the whole bottle.. [-X
And it fitted the bottle with the broken lid like a dream =D>

My top broke as well.

Luckily I had their Belgian Blonde kit that comes with candi sugar in an identical bottle, so I just used the top of that after brewing it.

You could always try asking for a spare lid and placing your next order?

Sounds like it could be a fault with them.

Yeah I had the same issue so sounds like they had a bad batch of bottles, they did send me a new empty one on request though (I stored the solution for a couple of weeks in a kilner bottle in the meantime to keep it air tight).
