Wilko Oxi Plus
I have tried to clean out an old pressure barrel with diluted bleach solution but there are still a few stains visable on the inside. Unfortunately I can't get indside to clean it so I was going to get hold of some oxy clean. Has anyone used the Wilko own brand stuff and is it any good? Also is it fragrance free? Cheers, Adam

Its perfectly OK and unperfumed ,I would suggest filling about half full with boiling water and two or three scoops of oxi, put the cap on and lay it on the floor and rock it too and throe, you will need to wear oven gloves because the PB gets feckin hot, give it a slight turn every couple of minutes to make sure every part gets a good cleaning and occasionally open the tap to vent the pressure that builds up, its really effective at shifting everything .

Cheers for the quick reply Fubar. I'll do as suggested and half fill with boiling water (that's a lotth of kettle refills!). I was contempelating putting the SC30 barrel barrel cap in the dishwasher, but am I asking for trouble, as I'm worried it might damage the seals. What do you reckon? Cheers, Adam

Re: Wilko Oxi Plus
i wouldn't put water in a plastic barrel thats overly hot. ive done it in the past and my barrel wont seal at all now. the heat hast distorted it slightly. well thats my thoughts anyway.
warm water is good enough.

Used this today on my pressure barrel and its worked wonders! I only used one scoop of the powder, so two quids worth should last me years.

Re: Wilko Oxi Plus
I used hot water out of the tap in the end with the Oxi clean, so prob 50-60oC. I've got a babies bottle steriliser and I'm going to use that to sterilise the seals, tap and barrel cap. It uses steam to clean so should kill off any unwanted bacteria!
