Cleaning 'New' Reconditioned Kegs

Post by Binkie Huckaback » Tue Apr 13, 2021 9:47 pm

I've bought some reconditioned AEB kegs. Before I use them, should I give them a good clean with something? If so, what? I thought maybe PBW. I'll be using Starsan (hopefully) to sanitise, but wondered if there might be any machine oils etc on the interiors that needs to be cleaned off.

I use washing up liquid to remove any oils first, then PBW.
Ingredients: Water, Barley, Hops, Yeast, Seaweed, Blood, Sweat, The swim bladder of a sturgeon, My enemies tears, Scenes of mild peril, An otter's handbag and Riboflavin.

Truck wash would be thorough. 3 rinses.
