Beer line and tap cleaning chemicals - What do you use?

I know that pubs use quite a toxic concoction for cleaning their lines, but what do you folks use and or think is the best chemical cleaner for the lines and taps?

at the moment i just use Ritchies/youngs steriliser to normal FV sterilising strength and run it through the line for a bit, let it stand for 10 mins, then run through some more and repeat a total of 3 times. then run fresh water through the line (about a quarter of a corny of fresh water as my lines are only 1 meter long).

I do this when a keg has been finished, i dont tend to periodically disconnect it and clean it halfway through drinking a keg (unless i'm drinking it slowly and it's been out of action for a couple of weeks).

is this sufficient enough or should i do more to keep my lines in order?

I use Caustic Soda for virtually all cleaning/sterilising tasks.

As long as You follow the instructions for safe handling then there's no problem. Caustic causes the fat in skin to turn into soap and in the Eyes it's obvious nuff said....

I've used it to clean cornies, flash chillers, beer lines etc.
